Mission The History Club will be a student-led and campus-based group at the University of Arizona. Our goal is to engage students, assist in their professional development, and provide them with opportunities to meet and network with fellow history enthusiasts. We aim to introduce students to local resources that will assist them as they pursue their degrees and think about careers in history. This organization shall comply with all University and campus policies and regulations, in addition to all local, state, and federal laws. This organization shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or genetic information in any of its policies, procedures, and practices. This policy will include, but is not limited to recruiting, membership, organization activities, or opportunity to hold office. This organization will not conspire to engage in hazing, participate in hazing, or commit any act that causes or is likely to cause bodily danger, physical harm or personal degradation, or disgrace resulting in physical or mental harm to any fellow student or person attending the institution. This organization will act democratically.
Membership BenefitsOur professional side of the club, Phi Alpha Theta, has a one-time initiation fee of $50.00 per student payable at the time of initiation (this fee can be paid for by the club only under certain circumstances). This fee includes a membership certificate and four electronic issues of our journal, The Historian. The payment of the fee will also give the student access to Phi Alpha Theta graduation garments and accessories. Membership in Phi Alpha Theta is a lifetime membership.History Club, in itself, provides a space for students to meet their fellow peers who are History majors or those who are simply interested in History. It also gives the opportunity to become more involved in the History Department as well as provides many opportunities to learn about various times in history from our History professors while enjoying the wonderful environment (plus food!).
