Newsletter - October 2024


Hey, ACF Fam and Supporters!

It’s your ACF Wildcat President here, bringing you the first-ever newsletter for our chapter at the University of Arizona! We’re excited to share some updates, highlight upcoming events, and extend our gratitude to everyone who has supported us as we take off. Here’s what’s been happening and what’s coming up!

First things first—a HUGE thank you to those who have been with us on this journey so far:

  • Tucson FilAm SDA Church
  • Pacific Union ACF Office, led by Pastor Ron Pickell
  • Pastor Mike Soto, Young Adults Leader for the Arizona Conference
  • Our amazing ACF chapter advisor, Marlene Navarro
  • Pastor Jonathan Smith
  • Tucson Youth Leaders Group

We also want to thank the 17 students who’ve signed up to be a part of our chapter and those who have been active participants. You know who you are—we appreciate you!


WE NEED YOU!

We’ve got a fantastic team, but we’re still missing a few key players. Currently, we have a President, Vice President, Secretary, Sergeant at Arms, and Music Director. BUT...we really need a Treasurer! If you’ve got a knack for numbers or just want to be more involved, reach out to us!


CALL FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

To our local churches and community supporters: we need your help! We’ve got some great events planned, and your financial support can help make them even more impactful. Consider partnering with us to support our mission on campus.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Here’s what’s in store for the rest of the year:

  • Prayer Booth: Nov 26, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM, University Campus
    Come by for a moment of prayer and encouragement.

  • Fall Festival: Nov 26, 6:00 PM, Desert Valley SDA Church
    We’ll have a table at the festival to share what we’re doing on campus. Stop by and say hello!

  • eWOP (Online Week of Prayer): Nov 9-15, 2024
    We’ll gather on Zoom throughout the week, with in-person meetups on Wednesday and Friday evenings.

  • Weekly Bible Study: Starting after the Week of Prayer (date, time, and venue TBD).

  • Worship Night at the Mall: Nov 22, 5:15 PM - 7:30 PM
    Join us for an evening of worship music outdoors on campus.

  • Christmas Worship Night: Dec 13 (Venue TBD)
    Let’s close out the semester with some joyful songs and fellowship!

BEYOND CAMPUS: ACF-WIDE EVENTS

We’re also looking forward to events organized by the North American Division (NAD) ACF:

  • Spring Break Mission Trip to Navajo Nation: March 16-22, 2025
    We’re getting in gear for our Pacific Union Spring Break ACF Mission Trip (we should probably choose a shorter name 🤪). Join us for this special opportunity to serve the Navajo Nation in Kayenta, AZ. The needs are great, but so are the blessings! Interested? Fill out the form here.

  • ACFi 2025 Date Change: July 29 - August 2, Seattle
    The ACF Institute 2025 dates have changed! Mark your calendars to connect with ACF chapters from all over the NAD. More details to come!

  • “Adventist Campus” Ministry Convention: Oct 30 - Nov 2
    Held at WWU Marine Biology Station, this is a gathering of chaplains and student leaders from Adventist colleges. They’re inviting up to 6 students from public campuses this year—let us know if you’re interested!
