About Us

Established in 2018, Wildcat Rocket Engineering Club (WREC) is the UofA's first and only student-led organization entirely dedicated to developing single stage liquid-fuel rockets.

Our club educates students on rocketry principles and provides hands-on experience working on real projects in a team environment, culminating in the FAR Out liquid rocketry competition in Mojave, California.

In 2024, we completed the design and assembly of our first rocket and by June 2025, we performed a total of seven static-fire attempts with several reaching a successful, full-duration burn.

We are moving at a breakneck pace to consistently design, test, and fly and are always looking for new team members from ALL majors!

General Meetings are Wednesdays from 6-8 pm
