The mission of AGUA is to operate as the connective tissue that links the activities, interests and events of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates in the School of Anthropology at the University of Arizona. An organization run exclusively by graduate students, AGUA's primary mission is to develop cohesion among its constituents and promote and foster academic excellence for the various parties with which it interfaces. In addition to liaising between the faculty and students, AGUA's other primary function consists of promoting networking among graduate students among the four sub-disciplines (archaeology, biocultural, cultural, and linguistic anthropology) and bringing in distinguished scholars from all over the academic world to speak and share their scholarship. Events like the AGUA Lecture Series, AGUA Annual Picnic and Professionalization Workshops are the central nodes around which the trajectory of AGUA is based and each year we strive to replicate and build on the excellence of the previous cohort.

Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution and demonstrates how conflicts can be handled with the assistance of an impartial third party. Through the Arizona Mediation Team, students will learn to compete as mediators, clients, and advocates in mediation tournaments sponsored by the International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) and work on public-speaking and problem-solving skills to come to written agreements.

The Engineering Student Council (ESC) serves as the student governing body of the College of Engineering, representing engineering clubs and students to the college, community, and industry. The Engineering Student Council was first organized in 1926. In October of 1992, ESC became a charter member of the National Association of Engineering Student Councils, Inc.

Golden Lotus is a Vietnamese cultural dancing group established here at the University of Arizona in 2013. As a group we strive to integrate aspects of Vietnamese culture through a mix of traditional and modern dance. Through our dancing and traditional wear, we hope to cultivate a strong appreciation for Vietnamese culture. Golden Lotus has performed at various events throughout Tucson, such as Tucson Meet Yourself, the Crawfish Festival at Our Lady of La Vang Church, Miss Ao Dai at Amphitheater High, and the Vietnamese Student Association Culture Show and International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Dinner at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. We create various traditional dances through the usage of fans, straw hats, and ribbons.
