About Us

Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Arizona is a non-denominational, secular organization with three main goals:

1) Advocating for humanitarian rights and justice within the Palestinian territories and beyond.

2) Collaborating with and attending to the needs of Palestinian students and faculty at the University of Arizona and in the larger Tucson community.

3) Promoting the Palestinian liberation movement which seeks freedom and the Right of Return for all Palestinians under occupation and in exile.

Background

Students for Justice in Palestine is a network of chapters on university campuses on occupied Turtle Island (U.S. and Canada) dedicated to advocacy for the Palestinian cause. The first chapter was founded at the University of California-Berkeley in 2001, and has since expanded to over 200 schools. Our collective mission is to increase solidarity for Palestine through political education, allyship with joint struggle partners, and conscious reform within our academic institutions.

Values and Land Recognition

Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Arizona upholds our commitment to respect for all identities, conscious opposition to bigotry of all forms, recognition of our joint struggle partners and indigenous movements worldwide, and accurate political education at the University of Arizona and the greater Tucson community.

We acknowledge our presence on occupied land of the Tohono O'odham Nation and Turtle Island. As a student organization that is intrinsically aligned to a greater indigenous cause, we extend our unconditional support to the Tohono O'odham Nation and the Land Back movement on occupied Turtle Island.
