About Our Local Chapter

The mission of the WiCyS Student Chapter is to build a community within the University of Arizona (UArizona) that promotes women's education, participation, and leadership in the field of cybersecurity.

The WiCyS Student Chapter is organized with the following purposes:

  • To decrease the gender disparity in cybersecurity.
  • To provide education, mentorship, and networking support to students through the WiCyS community.
  • To promote and recruit women in the cybersecurity workforce through UArizona.
 

The WiCyS Story

Established in 2012 by Dr. Ambareen Siraj of Tennessee Tech University through a National Science Foundation grant partnerships, and collaboration benefits for all women, allies and advocates with a strong mission to recruit, retain and advance women in cybersecurity.

WiCyS is global community of women, allies and advocates, who are dedicated to bringing talented women together to celebrate and foster their passion and drive for cybersecurity.


Creating opportunities for students to network with industry professionals through our bi-weekly speaker series featuring cybersecurity professionals across a number of industries.
