Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution and demonstrates how conflicts can be handled with the assistance of an impartial third party. The University of Arizona's Delta Delta Sigma Pre-Dental Society is more commonly known as the DDS Pre-Dental Club. The primary goals of this club are to provide the knowledge and resources needed to become a competitive applicant for dental schools, and to positively influence the surrounding community, particularly in dental related causes. Members will learn about the dental school application process, speak with dental professionals and admission officers, and gain shadowing opportunities. In addition, community service events will be held that focus on a variety of tasks that range from educating young students on the importance of oral health and hygiene at elementary schools to assisting dental professionals in dental procedures, such as fluoride sealants.
